Review: PRISONERS

MV5BMTg0NTIzMjQ1NV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNDc3MzM5OQ@@._V1._SX95_SY140_I adore watching thriller/suspense films...not to be confused with horror films which I have been very vocal about not liking for pure reasons of FEAR (LOL)!!!  PRISONERS, however, is the most jaw-dropping thriller I have seen in years!  It was absolutely thrilling, spellbinding and kept my attention from beginning to end. PRISONERS follows the story of how two children are abducted on Thanksgiving day, assumed dead when the parents decide to take the law into their own hands.

Hugh Jackman, Terrence Howard, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Jake Gyllenhaal and Melissa Leo ar all equally brilliant, but it is Melissa Leo (unrecognizable as Holly Jones) who once again proves what a chameleon  character actress she is.  For the first time, I saw a performance from Terrence Howard that I had never seen before, which was very refreshing.  What was that you ask?  A man with a conscience.  Viola Davis NEVER has a bad performance no matter what film she is in.  She is in one word...brilliant!!!  Jake Gyllenhaal, no matter what role he take on does so with complete and utter conviction all the way down to the mannerisms of his character and Hugh Jackman takes his character to the brink of insanity over the uncertainty of where his daughter is and who has taken her away from the family.  Paul Dano is delishishly creepy as the assumed abductor Alex Jones.

PRISONERS is a must see and the ending will make you mad as a hornet...LOL!!!
