Humans in space is always an event that has been fascinating to me for one reason or another. I've wondered what the astronauts do while they are up there for months at a time. I wonder how normal things like eating, using the facilities or even sleeping are coped with for that period of time. GRAVITY doesn't really answer any of these questions, but it does take us on a journey of a few astronauts that when faced with extreme circumstances demonstrate their ability to cope mentally and physically with those events. The film also show us the beauty of space and how the silence can be an escape from all the noise being experienced on earth. Cell phones, internet and all the mindless chatter that happens 24 hours a days and how just one moment of silence can take one to a space and a place of complete and utter tranquility and clarity.
It also shows us that gravity can be associated with space, water or the events that don't allow us to be free in life or from ourselves and others.
Sandra Bullock and George Clooney always bring to their characters a charisma and comedic element that make the most dire of circumstances seem worth fighting through.
With that said and without spoiling the film...GRAVITY is definitely a journey worth taking is in theaters now.
