It's the Australian film that blitzed overseas box offices, caused a near riot at the Cannes Film Festival and won an Academy Award®. It's fun, daring, over-the-top and unforgettable. It's a road movie with attitude and the occasional frock with two drag queens and a transsexual traveling  across the desert to perform their unique style of cabaret.

Fast forward to 2011, when a musical adaptation opened at the Palace Theatre on Broadway produced by the Queen of Camp herself - Miss Divine - Bette Midler and garnered two Tony Nominations.  The show now has companies all over the world including Korea, Greece, Italy, Argentina, Spain, The Philliphines, London / West End, Sweden, New York / Broadway, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Toronto, Sao Paulo, North American Tour, UK Tour and Italian Tour.  Ladies and Gentleman...Priscilla - Queen of the Desert.  Ladies ad gentleman...I present Priscilla - Queen of the Desert...

Hey My Fellow Movie Lovers...

A Bison, Virgo, devoted daughter, yoga and spinning enthusiasts, graduate of  the "mecca" - Howard University's School of Communications, former publicist, actress, branding influencer and "doggie mom" to an adorably smart-energetic maltese are just a few of the characteristics that make up the essence of me -- Carla Renata.

Formerly of UBNRAdio.com, where I Co-Hosted "On Air With Tony Sweet", this Fall, I will be hosting a new show for Black Hollywood Live owned by E! Correspondent Maria Menounos  and am a freelance contributor for NPR's Weekend All Things Considered.
